A native of West Palm Beach, Florida, Maha Nusrat has always appreciated what the beautiful Sunshine State has had to offer. The weather and outdoor activities of South Florida has always inspired her to be involved in various activities and projects dealing with ecological studies, restoration, and environmental education from a very young age.
Not too far from her hometown, she moved to Miami in 2011 to pursue her Bachelors of Science in Biology at Florida International University. After graduating from FIU she became involved in various projects studying the pollination biology of several flowering plants in the Apocynaceae family, the fragmentation of the Pine Rocklands on the Miami Rock Ridge, and ensured that future generations develop an appreciation and interest for their natural surroundings by interning at the Environmental Education department at Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens. She joined IRC in April 2016 to continue to fuel her passion of working on projects that deal with ecological restoration.
In her spare time, she helps her dad with his fruit and plant gardens, rollerblades around town, enjoys the beach, and has fun trying new coffee shops around town.
