Presencia/Occurence: Reportado/Reported.

Historia y distribución/History and distribution: An unverified report. The Puerto Rican report, as occurring in “dry southern districts,” could have referred to one of several native Aristida species known from southwestern Puerto Rico. Britton & Wilson (1923 [I]: 62) incorrectly placed this into synonymy under A. cognata, a species from the Virgin Islands and elsewhere in the West Indies but unknown from Puerto Rico.
