ESTATUS EN LA ISLA DE PUERTO RICO/STATUS ON THE ISLAND OF PUERTO RICO
Presencia/Occurence: Reportado/Reported.

Historia y distribución/History and distribution: Reported only. Cited for Puerto Rico by Bello (1883), but Britton & Wilson (1923 [V(1): 133]) stated that it may only have been in cultivation. It was subsequently reported for Puerto Rico by Liogier & Martorell (1982, 2000). Excluded by Acevedo-Rodríguez & Strong (2005, 2012) and treated as doubtful by Axelrod (2011) and Acevedo-Rodríguez & Strong (2015). Although this could be confused with the common B. pinguin, Puerto Rico is within the native range of the species and it could have been historically present.
