Historia y distribución/History and distribution: Cited by Liogier & Martorell (1982), Liogier (1994 [III: 234]) and Liogier & Martorell (2000) as planted and persistent, and excluded as only under cultivation by Axelrod (2011). However, this is cited as naturalized in Puerto Rico in the Flora of the West Indies (Acevedo-Rodríguez & Strong 2015).
