ESTATUS EN LA ISLA DE PUERTO RICO/STATUS ON THE ISLAND OF PUERTO RICO
Presencia/Occurence: Presente/Present.

Origen/Origin: Nativo/Native.

Historia y distribución/History and distribution: Un helecho terrestre, escandente (trepador), raro, en el este y noroeste de Puerto Rico, mostly en elevaciones bajas. Principales regiones geográficas conforme a Axelrod (2011): Sierra de Luquilla (Bosque Nacional El Yunque), Colinas Calizas del Norte (Arecibo). Áreas botánicamente únicas conforme a Axelrod (2011): ninguna. Aunque fue reportado por Axelrod (2011) como no recolectado recientemente, fue redescubierto en Arecibo en 2004 (Christenhusz 3555 NY with J. Carlos Trejo-Torres) y en Río Grande en 2012 por Fabiola Areces (ver también el enlace de la Estación Biológica El Verde aquí abajo).

A rare scandent (vining) terrestrial fern in eastern and northwestern Puerto Rico, mostly at low elevations. Major geographic regions following Axelrod (2011): Sierra de Luquilla (El Yunque National Forest), Northern Limestone Hills (Arecibo). Botanically unique areas following Axelrod (2011): none. Although reported by Axelrod (2011) as not recently collected, it was rediscovered in Arecibo in 2004 (Christenhusz 3555 NY with J. Carlos Trejo-Torres) and in Río Grande in 2012 by Fabiola Areces (see also Estación Biológica El Verde link below).
