Origen/Origin: No nativo, naturalizado/Not native, naturalized.

Historia y distribución/History and distribution: Cited by Liogier (1997 [V: 45]) and Liogier & Martorell (2000) as a weed, escaped in an orchid nurseries, but rejected as naturalized in Puerto Rico by Axelrod (2011). However, there is a specimen in TROPICOS collected by Liogier in Febo's Orchid Nursery in 1983 (37192 MO).
