ESTATUS EN LA ISLA DE PUERTO RICO/STATUS ON THE ISLAND OF PUERTO RICO
Presencia/Occurence: Presuntamente extirpado o extinto/Presumed extirpated or extinct.

Origen/Origin: Presumiblemente nativa/Presumed native.

Historia y distribución/History and distribution: A rare shrub or vine collected in 1931 by N.L. Britton and C.E. Horne (9628 NY, US) from a hillside thicket in Barrio Asomante, Aibonito (Liogier & Martorell 1982, Liogier 1985 [I:191], Liogier & Martorell 2000, Acevedo-Rodríguez 2005, Axelrod 2011). Acevedo-Rodríguez (2005) considered this to be “probably exotic, cultivated, probably naturalized” without further explanation, but there is nothing on the specimen label to corroborate this. Axelrod (2011) treated it as a native component of the Puerto Rican flora, but as not recently collected.
