Floristic Inventory of South Florida Database Online

Field Photos
IRC Staff (past & present) Conducting the FISF

IRC's FISF was initiated in 1994 to provide critical baseline data in order to improve native plant conservation programs and ecological restoration projects throughout South Florida. A subset of data on more than 2,500 species of plants and 400 conservation areas are presented in the FISF Database Online. Photos of many plant species and an advanced search feature are provided.

A review of the methods and preliminary results of the FISF were published in the Executive Summary and Chapter 1 of IRC's book Rare Plants of South Florida; Their History, Conservation, and Restoration.
