South Florida History and Distribution: A rare terrestrial orchid in southeastern Florida in Miami-Dade County. It was first collected in the United States in 1947 by Roy Woodbury and Manley Boss (Hawkes 1950, Luer 1972, 
Gann et al. 2002, p. 61).  Although reported by others, this was the only verified record for South Florida until it was rediscovered in 2010 by Greg Reed in Everglades National Park (Sadle 2012a). See also IRC's report
