South Florida History and Distribution: Ranked as critically imperiled in Rare Plants of South Florida (Gann et al. 2002; pp 222-224) based on one occurrence in the National Key Deer Refuge and surrounding private properties on Big Pine Key. Also recorded in 2007 in a Monroe County conservation area on Cudjoe Key (Woodmansee 1982 USF).
