South Florida History and Distribution: Ranked as presumed extirpated in Rare Plants of South Florida (Gann et al. 2002, pp 80-81), based on a last known collection in 1957 northeast of Fort Myers. Rediscovered in Charlotte County in 2011 by Alan Franck and R. Chicone Jr. (2885 USF), and later recorded for Bowditch Point Park in Fort Myers Beach.
