South Florida History and Distribution: Not included in Rare Plants of South Florida (Gann et al. 2002), but there is an 1874 collection from "Biscayne Bay" (Palmer 122 F, GH, MO; Freytag & Debouck 2002), presumably from the mouth of the Miami River.
