Available at native plant nurseries in central Florida.
Description: Perennial herb up to 3 feet tall with yellow flowers.
Dimensions: Up to 3 feet in height. Usually much taller than broad.
Growth Rate: Fast.
Range:
Endemic to peninsular Florida from St. John's and Alachua counties, south to Indian River, Osceola, Highlands, Hardee, and Manatee counties; disjunct to Collier County where possibly extinct.

Habitats: Flatwoods and disturbed sites
Soils: Moist, well-drained sandy soils, without humus.
Salt Water Tolerance: Low; does not tolerate long-term flooding by salt or brackish water.
Salt Wind Tolerance: Low; salt wind may burn the leaves.
Drought Tolerance: High; does not require any supplemental water once established.
Light Requirements: Full sun to light shade.
Flower Color: Yellow
Flower Characteristics: Showy.
Flowering Season: February - December, primarily in summer.
