Description: Wildflower 2 feet tall with elliptic leaves and abundant yellow flowers.
Dimensions: Typically 2 feet in height.
Range:
Scattered from South Carolina to Texas south to the Florida panhandle from Walton to Jefferson counties.

Habitats: Pinelands and woods.
Soils: Moist, well-drained sandy or limestone soils, without humusy top layer.
Nutritional Requirements: Low; it grows in nutrient poor soils.
Salt Water Tolerance: Low; does not tolerate long-term flooding by salt or brackish water.
Salt Wind Tolerance: Low; salt wind may burn the leaves.
Drought Tolerance: High; does not require any supplemental water once established.
Light Requirements: Full sun.
Flower Color: Yellow.
Flower Characteristics: Showy.
Flowering Season: May and June.
Fruit: Nutlets.
Wildlife and Ecology: Attracts pollinators.
