Ecological Restoration Notes: At present not cultivated, but this could be incorporated into restoration projects in coastal uplands, scrub and scrubby flatwoods.

Availability: Grown by enthusiasts.

Range: Southeastern United States.

Habitats: Coastal uplands and moist to dry pinelands.

Soils: Moist to dry, well-drained sandy soils, without humus.

Salt Water Tolerance: Low; does not tolerate long-term flooding by salt or brackish water.

Salt Wind Tolerance: Secondary line; tolerates significant salt wind without injury, but usually is somewhat protected.

Drought Tolerance: High; does not require any supplemental water once established.

Light Requirements: Full sun.

Flower Characteristics: Inconspicuous.

Flowering Season: All year.
