Wildlife and Ecology: Larval host plant for gray hairstreak (
Strymon melinus) and tropical checkered skipper (
Pyrgus oileus) butterflies. Nectar plant for barred yellow (
Eurema daira), gulf fritillary (
Agraulis vanillae), Palatka skipper (
Euphyes pilatka), tropical checkered skipper and other butterflies.
Comments: Treated as
Sida ulmifolia by other authors.
