Florida Keys History and Distribution: ot reported for the Florida Keys by John Kunkel Small in 1913. Vouchered in 1967 on Sugarloaf Key by George N. Avery (314, FTG; s.n., USF). Also reported in 1971 by Robert W. Long and Olga Lakela as naturalized in the Florida Keys (as L. violaceus, misapplied). No recent records are know, but it is possibly in cultivation.
