Florida Keys History and Distribution: Discovered in Florida on North Key Largo in 1882 (Small, 1931). Reported in 1931 by John Kunkel Small for hammocks on Key Largo and Adams Key. We consider this native and extant in the upper Keys (Key Largo). It is extirpated on Adams Key.
